I finished my Paula Vaughan "summer Welcome" a while back. I'm finally getting around to posting a picture of it.

I also did a couple of ornaments for two Christmas exchanges. I'm finishing challenged so it was really fun trying to figure out how to do these. The one picture is the material I used for backing.

I've completed three WIP/UFO's. My pile is very slowly dwindling down. At least until I get ready to start next years stitching challenge...LOL.

I designed this one for Cynthia's kindergarten teacher last year.

An my last update is a couple of plant pokes I stitched for an exchange.

Trying to redesign, or learn how to anyway, my blog. I'm still playing with it and trying to figure things out on my own. I just have to figure out how to get the shadow background blog off. It's been so very long

The past six months have been so unreal. I started the year with both my dad and my popa (step-dad) in the hospital. They were both admitted on New Year's eve. Popa came home and is doing well. My dad came home on January 4th and lost his battle with cancer on January 6th. I felt that because I was the oldest that I had to be strong for my brother and sisters. I guess they forgot that I need someone also. Even though my dad and I did not have a close relationship he was still my dad. He adopted me when I was two years old and raised me until I was almost 14. You know the old adage that blood is thicker then water. Well sometimes I feel like because I'm not blood I'm the useless water. It seems like they don't understand that I'm hurting also. I still feel like the outsider. it got back to me that my brother thinks I am aloof from the family. I don't know how to make them understand that if I appear aloof it is because I am so tired of being hurt and feeling like I'm on the outside looking in. Hence, I shut myself off. OH well, enough of this stuff or I will be crying again.

On the stitching front, I have completed 6 projects this year. I know that is a long way from the 18 that I wanted to do but I still have time and a couple of them are 4 page designs. I think I'm going to count each page as a finish for the incentive to keep going.

I am so close to having a finish that I can't wait for my PHD - Potential Happy Dance. Right now my POO - Point of Obsession project is Paula Vaughan's "Summer Welcome. Here's an update on it.

I have a little more of the quilt to finish, mostly white and ecru, the back stitch it. After that all I have left to finish is the floor. I am so very glad I decided to do the back stitch as I went along. Otherwise this would have become a UFO....LOL. I'm crazy enough that I've started a second one. It's called "The Porch Swing".

I don't have a lot of it done yet so I've included the leaflet so that you can see what it will look like when finished. Okay I think I've added enough. Talk to you all soon.

I've had to remove the photo's from this post as it appears that I've lost them.

I ended 2010 with 19 stitched projects. This was my last one.
It’s a Lil’ Britters Design, “He’s the Reason”. I stitched it on 14ct Aida from Silkweaver Fabrics call Days Gone By. Now to figure out how I want to finish it. I spent today working on an old WIP. I hope to have her finished by Monday. I belong to the most awesome group on yahoo called Shared_Crosses. We are encouraging each other to finish as many old WIP projects as possible this year. I’ve picked 18 out of the 50 that I have and this is one of them. As you can see all that is left are the fish and a bunch of back stitching…UGH.
This is the next piece I want to work on starting Monday.
It is Paula Vaughan’s Summer Welcome. I’ll work on it until Friday afternoon. Then it is time for me to pick up my Angel of Cross Stitch for out 2nd weekend of the month SAL. Here is what I have done on my AoCS so far.
Yes she is from the leaflet with 498 colors. I am loving her though. I also hope to be a little more consistent in updating my blog then I have been these past years…LOL. Anyhow, (((hugs))) to all and Happy Stitching.

My Visit to the Ortho Today.

Well I seen the Orthopedic Surgeon today for Carpal Tunnel Syndrome in my left hand. It's been numb for almost 2 months now and my right one is also going numb. He seems to think that I have a pinched nerve in my elbow more the the CTS but he has ordered me to have an EMG test. That is scheduled for February 17th. I have to have it done before they can even think about doing any kind of surgery. Lucky me, everyone keeps telling me that the CTS surgery is painful and now it might be a pinched nerve. Either way you look at it neither one sounds like fun and it appears that more Physical Therapy and yes possibly surgery are in my future. From what I'm reading about it they are going to want me to curtail my activities for the nerves to heal which would mean less computer and stitching time. Like I see either one of those happening any time soon. Add into the mix now that I am into beading and jewelry making to...UGH!!! They really do want me to lead a dull boring life.

OH well I guess I'll start learning dull and boring now and go take a hot bubble bath and go to bed early for a change...LOL. I'm in enough pain right now that I really don't know how much more I can take anyway. I'll try to post again tomorrow and who knows maybe I'll get a little stitching in to if I'm lucky.

PIF and an Update finally

I know, I'm really bad at this blogging thing...LOL. I really need to do it at least once a week. Maybe I should set my outlook with a reminder so that I'll be back more often to do it. Things are just so crazy here though with doctor and dentist appointments. Add to that trying to raise two toddlers, our 2 and 4 year old granddaughters, and you can see why I don't have much time. I'm lucky to get in a few stitches these days and that's usually late at night. OH Well, such is life. Never a dull moment around here.

Now for the PIF (Pay It Forward). I won one last week and now it's my turn to host one. This one is a little different then the normal one though. They are usually something stitched but the one that I won is for a Fat Quarter of material. Yes you read that right. Finally a new update

Well I finally have a new update here. I've redone the background. I do like what I've found with the animation and such. Maybe one of these days I'll figure out the html so that I can get what I really want. In the mean time I'm very satisfied with what I have here. I've got Christmas animation and music, what more could a girl ask for.

I'm off to update my multiply site and then do some stitching. I found a Santa Garden Poem in an old magazine that I'm working on. I plan on making it into a pillow. If I want it done in time for Christmas I need to get started on it...LOL. So I am wishing you all a goodnight now. I'll be back soon.

Well it was a busy day today. First I went to see the ENT doctor for the results of my hearing test. I have lost some hearing but I knew that. It's the higher pitched sounds. I seen the doctor because of the ringing in my ears. It's called Tinnitus, I think I spelled that right. The doctor eexplained it to me as the nerves in my ears are pinging due to the hige frequency hearing loss. She said the nerve is bouncing the sound around almost like a short circuit in electrical wiring. Anyway the good news is that the bones in my ear are not hardening so I won't need surgery. I can be treated with an over the counter medication. The bad news is it's between $25 & $30 a bottle....UGH!!!!

This afternoon I had Physical Therapy. Need I say more about that...LOL. The best part was the neck and shoulder massage when I was done. That and the fact that PT is right next to the Chinese Buffet. Needless to say I didn't cook tonight, I brought home carry-out...LOL.

So while eating dinner on the couch we, hubby and I, watched some shows we had on the DVR. It was a nice relaxing evening. I added a few more stitches to Queenie. The cats body is done and I've started on the face. I'm hoping to have it finished this weekend. When I finished stitching for the evening I used the last chocolate bar and made my most favorite treat in the whole world, A SMORES...LOL. I enjoyed eating every little bite to.

Well seeing I have no appointments what-so-ever tomorrow hubby said something about taking the boat out and going fishing. I hope it's nice enough that we can do that. I'm so looking forward to it. Well I'm off for the evening. I'll try to post again tomorrow.

My First attempt at creating a blog.

I'm not sure if I'm doing this right or how often I'll keep up with it but I'm going to give it a try. I had a nice quiet day today. I started by sitting outside this morning with my coffee and stitching. I came inside just before the rain started. This afternoon I took a nap which was really nice. This evening hubby and I watched "Welcome Home Rosco Jenkins". We both thought it was pretty good.

As far as my stitching goes, one of the pieces I'm working on is Alma Lynne's "Queen of Halloweenie". If I'm doing this right I'm going to try to include a picture of what I've gotten done on it so far.
